Android Proxy question?

Have any of you guys/girls come across an issue where android devices have issues with your proxy servers.

 

We have some HP Slate 7's that initially would not connect to our wifi and would sit at 'obtaining IP address' - I fixed this issue by giving it a static IP. However now when trying to use the net I get 'Authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful'. I have put the proxy details into the wifi settings for our network - there doesnt seem to be an option for authentication.

 

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Android simply doesn't work properly via proxies - some apps ignore proxy settings for example. Only real way to do it is to have a transparent proxy.
