Did my GPU just die?

So, my daughter was just watching YouTube when this happened:

 

 

So, do you reckon my GPU has just died on me? It displays that during the POST and at all times now. I've opened the case and tried reseating it to no avail. Unplugged and recabled everything and still the same.

 

Anyone know what kinda warranty comes with a Gigabyte 560Ti?

Yes, definitely looks like a graphics card issue, specifically RAM.

My warranty ran out in Jan 2014

An equivalent card will cost me around £100. Not an expenditure I can afford at the moment

Required items

 

1) Correct tools to take gpu and heatsink / fan assembly apart

2) A cleaning solution eg ruben or ethanol alcohol or some companies make a cleaning solution so as to clean off old thermal paste off of the gpu dies and heatsink

 

3) Reasonable thermal paste to apply back onto the gpu dies / processors ( whatever you want to call them )

 

Put back together and re install into pc and try again

 

Ignoring the part about re-flowing the graphics cards

Well, it was definitely the GPU that died. My friend kindly donated a 9800GTX which has at least got me back up running, however, I was just about to buy Final Fantasy XIII and GTAV (Upon release) So, I'll still need to save up for a 750Ti which appears to be the cost and performance equivalent to my 560Ti as I very much doubt the 9800GTX will fair well with those 2 graphical beasts! It's just too bad that EVGA don't do 10 year warranties anymore, but I guess they learnt from BFG's failure!

Thanks for that. I'll give that a go. Not too sure how comfortable I'd be with trying the re-flow the card, but it is something that most people are suggesting. I guess I don't have much to lose with an already dead card.

Yeah, either GPU or VRAM, if you are trying a reflow don't forget the liquid flux under the chip before you start.
