googlemad Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Trying to set all student accounts Profile Path to map to a Z:\ drive as we recently got some Macs and they require this field for access to user home folders (As for Windows we use a login script so have never made use of this field) anyway I can set it using \\fps1\students$\2013\%username% and it does seem to save the change but I get a error at the end saying 'The home folder was not created because it already exists check user has full control to the folder' etc. Will this be OK? I know the home folders already exist!
Davit2005 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 This is when you select multiple users in ADUC and modify Profile or Home Folder paths??? Ignore the error message and click cancel you should find it has made the change anyway. Clicking OK or Apply just takes you in circles. 1
googlemad Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 Thanks - I suspected as much just didn't want to go ahead with several thousand accounts until I double checked! Damn Macs!
karan_jhr Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 it does set the path but the permissions are not granted to the directories unless you go to each account and modify it and apply > ok else path will be there without permission i am also finding a solution as to how to apply the path with permissions i read its possible via Powershell but no success so far
