We've got some Heads of Dept who'd really quite like to be kept in the loop for behaviour incidents such as persistent missing homework without their staff having to manually tag them onto the record as a notified person in SIMS/InTouch.

 

But there's no "head of subject/supervisor" recipient role in the behaviour alerts setup and so no way to to determine Jeff Jefferson is Head of Biology and should be cc'd for any persistent missed homework recorded against biology lessons.

 

It might be possible to do this based on Course Manager supervisors (HOD is a course supervisor).

It is possible to configure the home page behaviour widget to show incidents relating to a subject area.

@PhilNeal I can see (Conduct Summary Panel) Group Types of Reg Group, Year Group, User-defined group, Discover Groups and Whole School.

 

But I can't see a way of setting "show me a graph of behaviour incidents that occurred in Biology lessons", for example.

 

Do I have to create a Discover Group and then use that? And if I do, will it only pull events from timetabled Biology lessons?

Messing around a bit shows you can create a Dynamic Discover Group in Discover that'll then be usable in SIMS .Net and it will pull in behaviour incidents of kids who've misbehaved in Biology lessons (recorded as "Activity" in the incident).

 

But if a kid misbehaves in Biology, it causes all subsequent behaviour incidents for that kid to be counted as valid for the purposes of the Discover group in SIMS. So the kid is flagged as misbehaving in Biology even though he may actually have been messing around in a different subject.

 

So you nudging the developers to re-include it will make some HODs happy.
