Best way to convert historical data

Hi

 

For the past few years our school has been using sub levels at KS4 by attaching a + or - to every KS4 grade A*-G. We now want to attached a, b, c instead of +/-, but I don't want to create new aspects as we have formula heavy templates which would all need to be updated.

 

Is there a way to convert all historical assessment data to a new grade set without changing aspects?

Probably not converting the Historical data, but you could create a new version within your Gradeset and update the grades to reflect what you then want to achieve. Then going forward, staff will enter with the new grades but all the all data will still be available. Edited October 9, 2014 by Cache

Open the grade set linked to the aspect you want to change and where it says Version, click new. Now add the amended grades into the new version and any Aspect linked to the grade set will use the new grading structure, starting from the date you created the new version. Historical grades will remain untouched and can retain the old grading structure (change the Result Date on the marksheet to before the new version was created if you want to input data with the old grading structure).
