I've been trying to setup the email function in FMS, primarily to send orders, but also to send remittance advices.

When the test supplier has an internal address, it send s the email fine, but when we try testing with an external address, we get the following message:

Email to supplier TEST (email address: [email protected]) failed. 550.5.7.1 Unable to relay. Failed when sending RCPT TO:. Send failed.

Our MIS & Exchange 2010 server are both hosted locally.

I think it's a problem with the setup of Exchange, but I don't seem to be able to find any relevent help on this, any ideas?

When using fees billing to send emails(sims. Net) I've had to allow the client pc's to send mail directly so it wouldn't surprise me if FMS also sent mails from the client rather than server.

@gillop

We are setting up BACS system email and having similar issue. Did you create a relay connector for FMS PC ( ip address of the PC ) to send email? We are using exchange 2013.

Thanks,

We set the Receive Connector to accept all IPs in our domain as we have several pcs that an fms order can be raised on. But once it was setup we've not had a problem.

Thanks for your quick reply......

Where did you configure the screen shots "FMS EMAIL Properties"? Are these properties on exchange server for an FMS email Account?
