gillop Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I've been trying to setup the email function in FMS, primarily to send orders, but also to send remittance advices. When the test supplier has an internal address, it send s the email fine, but when we try testing with an external address, we get the following message: Email to supplier TEST (email address: [email protected]) failed. 550.5.7.1 Unable to relay. Failed when sending RCPT TO:. Send failed. Our MIS & Exchange 2010 server are both hosted locally. I think it's a problem with the setup of Exchange, but I don't seem to be able to find any relevent help on this, any ideas? Paul
Cache Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I'm guessing this is the sort of thing you'll need to configure Blogs - Exchange Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs or http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000542.htm - what the range/ip address will be, I'm not sure. Might be the FMS client machine or it might be the server. 1
MatthewL Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 You may need to create a relay on your exchange server for the server that is sending them i.e. FMS server as per the link below. 1
Jamman960 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 When using fees billing to send emails(sims. Net) I've had to allow the client pc's to send mail directly so it wouldn't surprise me if FMS also sent mails from the client rather than server. 1
gillop Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks for the pointers, they got me heading in the right direction. I've got it working, the missing piece was in this article: How to configure a relay connector for exchange server 2010 The key settings on the recieve connector are: & 1
techy32 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 @gillop We are setting up BACS system email and having similar issue. Did you create a relay connector for FMS PC ( ip address of the PC ) to send email? We are using exchange 2013. Thanks,
gillop Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 We set the Receive Connector to accept all IPs in our domain as we have several pcs that an fms order can be raised on. But once it was setup we've not had a problem.
techy32 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Thanks for your quick reply...... Where did you configure the screen shots "FMS EMAIL Properties"? Are these properties on exchange server for an FMS email Account?
