Koldov Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 Ok, so I've just removed the Windows partition from an old MacBook (as it was dual booting Windows XP) using Bootcamp and now it refuses to start... No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key These were purchased before my time and I've had very little to do with them (they are quite old I think) and I'm a bit macaphobic! Where do I even start? Can I download a copy of the OS from anywhere? Which OS do I get? Help! I have another 9 to do and I don't want them all doing this... Kol.
Zoom7000 Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) Try holding down the Alt (Option) key when you start it up and select Macintosh HD if it appears. Once you're in to OS X, you'll want to go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select Macintosh HD as the default startup disk. Edited October 3, 2014 by Zoom7000 1
