Can't access Office 365 email account with Outlook

I'm having some problems getting Outlook to connect to my Office365 email account. When I enter my name, email address and password it doesn't automatically connect to the server and retrieve the details like it should. When I select manual configuration it asks for server address and I'm not too sure what that should be. I've tried the server which appears on my laptop's Outlook client (looks like [email protected]) as well as just randomschool.org and outlook.office365.com which is configured on my phone. Has anyone got any ideas? I'm sure it's something very easy but I haven't been able to figure it out.

I had this until I created a DNS record internally.

 

I had to create an A record of autodiscover. under my public DNS name internally schoolname.co.uk zone pointing autodiscover.schoolname.co.uk to autodiscover.outlook.com

If your using smoothwall then you will need to exclude some of the office 365 servers from the proxy authentication.

If it's Outlook 2013 you need all the latest updates.

 

I've also found if you connect via a proxy the following regedit is needed. I get it to apply via GPO:

 

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Sadly this is an issue for me now, annoying thing is I am trying to add a second email address to office outlook that is working perfectly, however when i try to add the second account I am getting told my web browser needs updating. Runnning the most upto date version I can find. The test email autoconfiguration feature in outlook .... doh I dont believe it...issue resolved all by its self...................mmmmm dont you just love Microsoft!!!!!!!!
