JoeFulford Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Hi Everyone, Sorry for another thread requesting help but I had a little bit of trouble yesterday getting Discover installed on a machine. I've now got it installed and it's on the top bar on SIMS and opens up fine; except it asks for a username and password. It should be the same as his SIMS login right? But no luck there, it won't even accept my own or another teacher who uses Discover frequently. I've asked the user to come and try logging in to Discover on another machine we already had it installed on and poof, everything runs through perfectly fine. It doesn't even ask for a login when run from SIMS, it put's him straight on. So I'm led to believe that Discover may not have been installed properly on his machine or it's somehow not retrieving his login credentials successfully. Anyone had this problem before or know how I could fix it? Thanks!
neilenormal Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 First ensure there has been a successful transfer on the server using the Discover Administration Utility. Then redeploy Discover to the affected workstation using Solus3. It sounds like the workstation versions of sims and Discover do not match, which they must do for it to work. 1
Edu-IT Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Check to make sure Discover is pointing at the right database too. 1
JoeFulford Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Got this working now. Uninstalled Discover and reinstalled it. For some reason it had installed at an older version of the database. Thanks guys!
