Hi Everyone,

Is SIMS Discover a standalone application or can it be integrated with SIMS? Also how do I install it? It seems as though I pushed it out to one of our employees yesterday but he can't seem to find it. I looked on his C$ and it has SIMS discover in his Program Files?

It pulls all it's data from SIMS so it is integral in that way; when installed it puts a shortcut into the top SIMS bar. It can however run separately from SIMS.

Check in SIMS to see if the icons there, it's a black square with 3 coloured circles in.

Ok I don't seem to have that. Maybe I'm installing it incorrectly? In SOLUS I go to Update Environment -> change the channel to SIMS Discover -> Browse AD and add the desired machine -> Then add the computer, save and close. Should it then push discover to it automatically or do I need to do something else that I'm missing? Thanks!

Look in the c:\windows folder for the sims.ini file: it should have the line SIMSDiscoverDirectory=C:\Program Files (x86)\SIMS\Discover Client\

Check this is correct as sometimes it is in Program Files not the x86 folder

Once this is right the icon should appear in sims as others have said

Neil your solution worked perfectly! Thankyou very much, couldn't get my head around it. I deployed Sims Discover and it was in Program Files and everything but not SIMS, forgot about the local sims.ini file.
