Hey Guys,

So we have PaperCut setup here and it is configure on two printers and one mdf photocopier, I seem to be having a major problem since this was installed where people will print, go to the printer, confirm their print and nothing will come out. Though this problem is intermittent sometimes it happens other times it works perfectly fine.

Just had a queue of staff standing at my door having a shouting contest with me over the whole thing.

Can anyone help me please I'm really struggling to see why it's doing this.

What type of jobs are they? We had this a while ago with Publisher documents being sent to a Ricoh colour MFD using the PCL drivers. We switched up to the PS drivers and it stopped causing us issues.

@SovietRussia, yes they do!!

@localzuk Just standard Word documents normally a lot of the staff here never use publisher.. The Ricoh didn't have a problem and would always print properly, it was only when we installed PaperCut onto the device did it start having issues so I can't see it being a driver problem!?

There's nothing in the logs for the jobs either? Are they showing up as printed or as cancelled or anything like that?

I wish I could tell you, we where on a trial license which expired yesterday and now I can't do anything on the PaperCut dashboard, tried the millionth time to get the license file from the company we brought it from and they seem to be taking forever!

Unfortunately you are gunna need that license file before you can do any other diagnostics, once you get it have a look at the job logs. See if there are any "Denied" errors coming up for the jobs they are trying to print.

There's nothing you can do until you get that file installed.

*sigh* Nothing ever just works!! Do you reckon because the license has expired that is why it would be stopping jobs!? It's strange because when looking at the print queue on the Print Server everyone's jobs seem to say N/A under the column "Pages".

How many users do you have using papercut at the moment?

This might be helpful PaperCut KB | PaperCut free license

[h=2]Will the program stop working after the 40 day trial is over?[/h]No, PaperCut will be fully functional if you remain below the 5 user limit. If your network grows to more than 5 users you will need to register PaperCut."

We have about 400 users on PaperCut unfortunately! :(

That could potentially be the issue then unfortunately!

I would be chasing the company who should be providing you the license, if not go straight to papercut and ask them?

On a side note, what version did you have installed? We are currently using V8.5 and i was wondering how the interface looked?

Things have improved a heck of a lot since then. We're running 14.2 here!

Have you tried approaching PaperCut directly? We deal with them directly and the support is great, they might be able to help?

+1. Make sure you have the loggin turned on within the settings.

Never had a problem with papercut..

We are running 14.0

PaperCut have given me an extra 7 day license for the time being, phew. They where very good and very quick might I add!!! I can't see why it's not printing things when people are confirming them, I have checked the Paper Cut logs and there's nothing in there to say anything about not being able to print!?

Do the copiers have access control on the unit? (you may need to add a photocopy code to the print server (had to do this with our library photocopier)
