As the Desktop and Server Specialist, you will be joining a strong Central IT

Support Team that is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of IT

to the entire College community.

 

You will take responsibility for the management and second line support of

desktops and laptops, creating images and applications using advanced

management tools. In addition, you will support the installation and

management of virtual servers using a variety of operating systems and

contribute towards the configuration and maintenance of the network and mobile devices.

 

The ideal candidate will:

• Be experienced with deploying and managing Windows 7/8
  
• Be experienced installing, configuring, and managing Windows Server 2008/2012
  
• Good knowledge of Linux (Suse Linux Enterprise Server)
  
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, NetIQ eDirectory, and LDAP
  
• To have experience and detailed knowledge of Windows Deployment Services
  
• Have experience using server virtualisation technologies such as VMware
  
• Have experience with Novell GroupWise and ZENworks
  
• Good knowledge of wireless networking protocols
  
• Be experienced in managing campus internet connections, filtering and access control
