newpersn Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Right. We have now got 16 ipads in a charge and sync trolly. There are all set up 1 by 1 and when we need to install apps we have to go though one by one. These have taken off great. (Much easier to move than laptops.) How do we manage them? Is there a noobs guide for this?
Lmsgpm2012 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Have a look at Meraki. It's a web based MDM solution. It will work great for the small amount of ipads you have. You can set them up, lock them down ( as much as apple allows ) and deploy both free and paid apps to them. It's much better than doing everything one by one. If you start to get more and more I, personally, would switch to Lightspeed. We have 135 iPads now, some for staff and the rest for students. Meraki was starting to creak a little with that many, but that may just be my experience of it. Lightspeed is brilliant, upto now, but it does cost. Around £4 per device.
Marshall_IT Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I'd agree with the above comment, meraki for the few, once you get more move to a paid for MDM. We use AirWatch, which is slightly more expensive than light speed which I also have access to but has many more features from what I can see.
Joanne Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I third Meraki, you can push out apps on it. Easy peasy!
APMerry Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Meraki is what is used for our little class set of 16. There's plenty of threads about ipad deployment on here. Enjoy!
