APS Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Morning, I have been in Contact with Capita in regards to the SIMS iso file, they keep on telling me that the school's LA can provide the iso for sims for us, we at my school has never had SIMS from our LA. And I am a member of the Supportnet, so I could not see a problem on why they won't give me the iso link. So I thought that maybe someone of here would be kind enough to give me the link to SIMS iso (any version) If you do, please PM me. Thanks.
MattMitchell Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 You generally have to get it through the official channels, as it's commercial software. Ask your LA!
superfletch Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Someone has given you the KB's in your other post, since you're a supportnet member you should be able to get to those now. Beyond that the ISO's are searchable from within supportnet.
APS Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Yes, I can only get the SIMS updates in the Supportnet, not the main ISO file. I think it was number KB110102
pete Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Poke @PhilNeal if you really hold a SIMS site licence and the helpdesk have your status mixed up with an LA supported school. Who normally updates and installs SIMS at your school (since it doesn't appear to be you)?
tombry Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I have a very hard time believing you are actually a headteacher at a school - although to be fair, I'm not sure what you'd hope to do with the iso for SIMS otherwise.
vikpaw Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I have a very hard time believing you are actually a headteacher at a school - although to be fair, I'm not sure what you'd hope to do with the iso for SIMS otherwise. Every so often someone will come here to try and get the installers, with a view to setting up their own SIMS and trying to hack some way or another. I find it hard to believe a school would carelessly let someone, (students mostly) to get hold of a copy of their data, so i don't know what they hope to achieve either. Anyhoo @APS if you send me your and the school details in a private message, i can try to verify your profile on SupportNet and see what we can do to help. Though it will most likely lead to getting someone from Capita to help you. Your best bet might be to log a support case on SupportNet then you can post the number here and we can direct the MD or one of the Capita lurkers to take a look for you.
APS Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Just an update, Capita has given me the ISO for SIMS. Thanks for all of your support.
