Zoom7000 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Just wondering if anyone else has pre-ordered the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus? My wife and I have ailing iPhones. She has a 3GS and I have an iPhone 4. We're both on pretty decent SIM only deals so we've both been saving £50 a month over the last year and managed to secure the funds to place the order last Friday. I'll be glad to finally be able to play some games on my phone again without any lag! So, who else is eagerly awaiting Friday?

I do SIM only as well. Save a small packet. I always used to think the larger screens were silly, especially when I heard about the Galaxy Note. But I used my friends Note a few months back and the extra real estate especially when web browsing really grew on me. I don't have an iPad of my own (the wife and kids have kinda commendeered mine!) so, this is a nice in-between!

Very true, it's ironic that quite a few of the websites/forums that I visit that don't have a mobile interface are actually tech/gadget websites! You can imagine how bad it gets trying to browse them on a 3.5" screen!
XiJ Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Ordered a 6. My work phone is a 4S and the battery life now means a charge midday is needed. My personal phone is a 5 which I really like - the size is good for me. Hope the 6 doesn't feel too big

There are plenty of video guides on YouTube and there's iFixit too. I picked up a replacement on ebay for just under a fiver with all the necessary tools. 1

Seriously I did think that - but I do like the have the latest kit and it was a good excuse to buy a 6 (also sim free). 3 days after I'd ordered it I received a special delivery letter I'd had to rearrange delivery on.... Turns out to be from solicitors regarding purchase of our new house.... With a cheque to me that covered iPhone cost. So happy!! Might consider changing the battery on my 5 soon tho. Ifixit make it looks soooooo easy lol
rich_tech Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) I really want a 6+ here, but after the prices I have been seeing, I just don't fancy it, I am well out of contract on my phone here with EE and don't fancy signing up to a massive monthly for nothing value added other than a new phone, even if it is bigger which I want. I am actually now considering changing to Three on a SIM only deal and taking my number across, as signal is much better where I work and just replacing the battery in my 4S (its a charge every 12/15 hours job now), but again I am going to wait on that a while here, to see if iOS8 is suddenly going to kill my iPhone, the same as it did with iOS7 for my wife's iphone4, update went on fine, but ground her phone to the floor, made it awful to use and laggy. Edit : battery change is easy, I know this having done a display panel swap on my wifes iPhone 5s recently, that was possibly the most nerve wracking 2 hours I have had in a while carrying out that swap.
