We have a handful of users who have configured their homepage to add some different panels, and then claim when they log back in they have reverted back to default.

Now, I've never seen this before so I'm a little bit sceptical about it - but I assume this information is stored in the SIMS database. Does anyone know whereabouts as I would like to take a look at what's been happening?

As system manager, I think under tools there are homepage settings. You can force panels on users and also lock them so as to prevent them messing. It might be they are restricted.

Also ages ago when they came out the permissions were altered so make sure you use the default groups. If not it would be worth checking the permissions on the users as well.

I had this problem this week, did you update to 7.159 recently by any chance?

To fix it on my network, I had to go in to "Routines > Home Page > Home Page Group Configuration" and delete everybody from the groups I had set up.

Previously, these settings had created the default settings for users, but it appears that since the update they now force those settings on to users each time they login.

@PhilNeal - can you confirm that? If so, is that an alteration the the functionality or a bug?

Yes we did just upgrade to 7.159 over the summer. It does look like there were some old 'legacy' (i.e before my time!) homepage group settings which I've never configured.

I've cleared the user groups as they didn't make a lot of sense now anyway - I'll get them to test this when they next login! Basically we just want everyone to get the default page, and configure it to their own requirements

Good luck with that. I had to go around and do it for everyone, until the ability to push default settings to different groups came in.

I've had this reported to me by a member of staff who moved year groups and updated his panels for his new year. They reset so he came to me and I set them up for him on my machine, they worked after that. We think it was related to him having SIMS open on another system when he changed the panels then closed the system with the old panels last, but bear in mind this is speculation!

No other staff have reported the problem yet.
