Hi everyone.

Has anyone rolled out Google Chrome on their CC4 networks?

If so, how is the best way to do it. Is there a downloadable package available or an RM blueprint (I couldn't find either).

Thanks in advance, Calwyn.

*This is based on knowledge from a previous site and is two years old.

It can be done, the big problem was that the official ADM templates provided by Google make a complete mess of the Reg Policies in the RMMC. So much so that I ended up just imported the templates directly in AD to set the policies. I have heard various people complain about being unable to successfully set policy but this was with more recent versions of Chrome and the ADM templates than in my experience.

First thing to do is see if your LEA has a package at all. I know HGFL have created one. However initially we just packaged an old version ourselves without too many issues. For the ADM template, as FooFighterJim said, it doesn't work through the RMMC, so we imported it straight into Group Policy and set it that way and touch wood we haven't had any issues with it...

Download the administrative msi, import that into RMMC as a CC3 package (make sure it is in a folder on its own as RMMC imports everything in the same folder as the MSI..), select the OSs that it is compatible with after importing and you should be fine to deploy it. Works for us!

ADM templates can be imported into group policy management as above, although this isn't necessary unless you want to restrict/set any options.
