NJH7 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So I have just started being a 1st line support dude. Some of the Primarys in my area have not been migrated yet, however I still have to provide support. When logging in (any user) it displays the following message; Build process aborting due to following error: File exception: failed to find C:\Program Files\RM\Connect\Build\Build Client\Data\Build_Constraints.xml" After this message you click ok then the system reboots. I have no idea, any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
clareq Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 The RM build has failed - possibly due to the network card driver not being available. The reason for the failure needs to be identified, and the build redone
jaf Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 This has happened to me in the past seemingly at random. It can occur months after a PC has been built after it has been working fine so I don't think it is due to missing a network driver. I think its just a RM component corrupted in some way. Anyway, the only way to resolve this (I know of) is a rebuild.
NJH7 Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Thanks for the replies guys, never touched RM before so this was concerning! I'll just leave them until they have been migrated and imaged!
tech_guy Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 ***BUMP*** We've had this happen to two PCs this week that were built in August. Does anyone know of the cause of this as it's going to be a pita to rebuild each time it happens.
clareq Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 My guess is that the machine has been shut down incorrectly and Windows repair run at boot. A rebuild is the only solution I'm afraid.

clareq Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 yes, we fixed it by scrapping RM as well. The newest versions of windows Server make it all fairly simple. 1

The best fix is just to rebuild the bloody thing! There may be a deeper reason as its often the same computers over & over again. Its definitely related to incorrect shutdowns though But rebuld rebuld & rebuild again - Ive had computers back in the workshop 24 hours after Ive put them back out in the classroom so get used to the experience!
