Problem loosing Active Desktop wallpaper

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have assigned a wallpaper through GPO, i have checked all the permissions on the folder where the jpg resides and all is OK.

The problem i have is when the users log on it shows the picture for while it applies settings but then the picture disappears. I just get a tiny square looking icon in corner of the screen.

I have tried all sorts to no avail.....anyone have a clue here?

I've seen no end of posts regarding this problem .jpgs just don't seem to work very well from network shares, some people find that putting the image on the C: drive solves the problem i've found that using a .bmp is more reliable but the file can be a bit large.

I had a similar problem, found the answer to be to make the picture the same resolution as the minitors. i.e. if you are using an 800x600 picture on a 1024x768 monitor resolution, rescale the picture to 1024x768.

We have problems showing our HTML backdrop to Staff members they have Domain User Permissions on normal desktops but Admin permissions on their laptops this seems to mess the Active Desktop up if anyone knows a way round this I'd like to know! ;)
