tonyuk83 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Hi all, have been tasked my one of our school govenors to try and find a way where govenors/school staff can send document to each other and also have a central place i suppose the files are stored, these would be controlled by permissioning so no accidental deletion could occur. Any thoughts on this would be great. We are currently on the lgfl2 staff mail and they have intergrated office365 with skydrive. To be honest doesnt seem to be the easiest to navigate but maybe just me. Im not yet how the sharing would work within this!! cheers
DaveR_ Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 We use Google Apps for this and it seems to work pretty well. We have set it up so they have a page for each committee too, only the members of the committee can access these pages so they can share documents between themselves before they recommend them for approval at full governing body. We have set the governors up in AD and use the GADS Tool to pull these into Google Apps. The whole thing has been pretty painless and the governors seem to like it.
nathan Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 We are using our VLE for this (It's Learning). We've set up a course just for the governors which they can add files (meeting minutes) etc. Works really well.
witch Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Why not use Office 365? We have just moved over to it and the staff have got their heads around sharing stuff in Sharepoint quite quickly. You can decide who can see it
Boredguy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 We provided our Governors with a network logon account and used a dedicated portion of our Home Access Plus (HAP) site for them to store documents
