laserblazer Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I thought the opening ceremony was a bit lame but as for the Games themselves "Glasgow - you were Pure, Dead Brilliant." whatever that means. 2
elsiegee40 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I will admit to having got home last night from 12 great days in Glasgow. Mr gee40, our son and I were there from the heat of the Opening Ceremony to the rain-drowned men's hockey bronze medal match, seeing many events, and caught a little of the men's road race as we returned to collect our cases before getting the taxi to the airport for the trip home... getting back there only 15 minutes into the closing ceremony. It is fair to say that we are shattered, but thoroughly enjoyed everything we did and saw 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I only managed to get up for a couple of the hockey matches last saturday (India v Scotland & Australia v Wales), we had a brilliant time nonetheless and I have to say that the buzz around Glasgow Green was brilliant. Fantastic event, some great matches, and we topped the table which made it even betterer
3s-gtech Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 It was pretty ace. We were at Hampden on Wednesday, saw the men's HJ and LJ finals as well as some awesome track and throws performances. Great atmosphere. 1
RabbieBurns Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Didnt get to see much due to the time difference, but really got homesick watching it. Edited August 4, 2014 by RabbieBurns
arwen Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Glad you all enjoyed time in my home city. I have yet to find anywhere quite like it, and the games seemed to amplify it even more. 1
