Move over Hudl: Meet the £60 KingSing Windows tablet!

 

Ive just seen this and cant get my head around how inexpensive they are. How do they make them so cheap even with mass production and low cost labour? I know its not going to be a stellar tablet but im sure it will do all the basics well enough.

You can get similar tablets for ~£90 on Chinese websites like Geekbuying.com. e.g. Onda V819i or Colorfly i803 Q1. They usually come with Android pre-installed, but you can download the Windows 8.1 firmware for free (although some tablets have issues when converted).

I bet we don't see it for that kind of money. Manufacturers and disributers seem to see our island as a cash cow. #RipOffBritain

I am not sure about supplying them to schools but as a parent with a few tech hungry kids who are just about ready for their first tablets i would give them a whirl.

 

Knowing my lot they will lose or break them within a couple of months.

I actually thought for one moment it was going to be selling over here for that price, my debit card was already 50% of the way out of my wallet so I could have a play....
