Hi gang,

Problem with SIMS .Net on one machine for one user.

When they log on, they receive a System.Exception message saying their home page cannot be loaded. SIMS loads but their home page doesn't display and can't be configured.

This only happens for one user on that particular machine. Other users on that machine are fine and that user is fine on other machine.

Any suggestions? I've already reinstalled so I'm guessing it's some configuration file in the local user profile.

Thanks.

I've had this issue in the past, usually for a user who is in a custom SIMS permissions group following an upgrade. To fix it, I remove the user from all permissions groups, reset their password then login as them. SIMS should load, but they'll have no access. Log back in as yourself and re-add their permissions groups, then try logging in again. If the issue persists, you'll have to try re-adding their permission groups one by one until you find which is causing the problem, then possibly recreate that group (if it's a custom group that is).

But would this be the case if it's only happening on one machine? All machines have the same version and his homepage works on all but this one.

Actually, just tried this and the user opened with no permission. He's only got two roles. Unfortunately, it looks like it's the Class Teacher role that's causing the problem but only on this machine.

UPDATE: ANY role I assign the user results in the error.
