From the URL I'm guessing it's the Thriller Michael Jackson gif?

I am all for equality and such - see multiple rants in the feminism thread - but all this is rubbish. They're doing it for publicity, of course, but in terms of the actual comics it a) makes no sense because Thor isn't a title, it's a name, what do we call real Thor now then? Is he going to get a Prince-style squiggle? b) it's all meaningless because it'll only last a year or two at most before reverting to normal. Obvious example: The Death of Captain America, except he wasn't killed, he phased in and out of space/time and reappeared at various points in his lifeline and eventually reappeared in the present... or something.

I don't even think it's all that powerful a message about equality. If it's sending any message, it's that a woman can't be powerful on her own terms, with her own identity; she can only become powerful by emulating a man and stepping into his role. Except with boob armour. Yay equality.

Black Cap sounds interesting, although if we're talking black superheroes, it's Netflix's Luke Cage series I'm looking forward to, personally :)

It's also unnecessary because Squirrel girl. Who defeated Thanos with the power of Squirrels. [Verified by Uatu the Watcher]

I think they're finally trying to promote a bit more gender equality considering they aren't many female superheroes on TV in comparison to male superheroes. I'm not sure if the story will hold for a series without it being 95% filler..

Hahaha, the same old clowns come out with this kind of claptrap whenever something like this happens. It's not about fear of women having power, it's about PEOPLE EARNING IT!

That said, Thor dresses like a girl anyway.

I'm not entirely sure @X-13 has ever been expressively clear about his/her/its their sex. And gender's a whole different kettle of fish and we're not opening that can of worms again D:

@X-13 is the Internets. The Internet is full of cats.

Therefore, X-13 is a cat. Everything else is irrelevant.

Why do they mess with these things?? According to Norse mythology, Thor was the husband of the goddess Sif. He was the son of Odin and the father of Thrud (who may have been a Valkyrie).

I find it annoying when they tinker with established stories. Just my 2 pennies worth :)

You're straying dangerously close to the f word...

And we all know how the internet treats those guys.

well...for my mrs in particular (and her sister) he was already a phwoar....so its just a role reversal.

FYI in Norse mythology, loki turned Thor into a woman for a period of time (and also a goat among other creatures)
