garethEds Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Can anyone recommend a suitable colour laser printer for home use? Ideally it would have wireless printing from both Windows, OSX, iOS and Pi devices. Price? Well reasonable price. Not sure how much printers go for these days. Yes I could look at PC World etc but thought I'd use the wealth of experience on here. Many thanks Gareth
Zourous Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 It's a bit like the old joke," how do you double the price of a skoda, ...fill it up with petrol." So how do you double or even treble the price of a colour laser, ...fill it up with toner. As a quick guide the smaller and cheaper the printer is, the more expensive the toner usually turns out to be. Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly like inkjets (for all their cartridge problems) but they work out a lot cheaper, unless you intend to print out loads of colour pages. A good color laser + plus full toners could set you back £200-300. Fine if you have the money and loads to print. 1
garethEds Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Hi @Zourous - Yes I know all that - but I was just after opinion on what other people have. Gareth
glennda Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Look at the new HP business inkjets - they sre very good and one of them even does 70ppm in good quality. They havr changed the way the ink gets transferred to the paper 1
Zourous Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Well just for the record I have a old hp photosmart inkjet printer. Works fine for my needs. 1
