The profile is in a separate place, it shouldn't count towards the disk quota.

 

Le EDIT: Hmm... the .V2 profile is about the same size as the missing space. But the RM carp is set to use the regular [non .V2] one.

 

There's also the issue that this .V2 is about 6x bigger than everyone else's for some unknown reason.

If this is a CC4 installation with the shared drives and the user areas on the same logical drive; anything a user puts in the shared area will count towards their quota.

hmm... interesting.

 

Ours is set for the old \\[server]\RMTeacherProfiles\[username] profile, which is about 500kb.

 

 

Le EDIT: huh, a folder it isn't told to use and nobody can make smaller... contributes to the space.

 

 

Moved it out, reset the profile. Back to ~500kb. Keeping the >25mb old one, just in case.

I have seen this a few times before and it was the profiles folder. If you go to the network drive where the profiles are stored for that group of users, you will see there are 2 folders for each user e.g jbloggs.v1 and jbloggs.v2

 

The V2 folder is the one that is used if you are using Win 7 or Vista but isn't the one that's displayed (afaik) when you click on the profile button in the RMMC. Check this folder to see if there are any large files hanging around.

I assume it's using the FSRM in Windows. Sometimes it stops updating used space and needs to be turned off and on again.

Some 64, some 32... I'm trying to get it uniform, but bugets are tight.

 

IIRC this user has a 64bit computer in their class.

Same here - we are looking at moving over next summer - they spread the cost of installation over a few years prior to me starting, we've only just cleared it! (felt bad ripping out a system that we are still paying for).

username.v2 is nowt to do with x64/x86 its windows vista/7 username on its own is 2k/xp username.v2 is windows vista/7 (and if you add the reg key to do it) username.v3 windows 8 username.v4 windows 8.1
