googlemad Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I use Excel to create CSV files for temporary logins One column I need is etc If I just put login1 and double click the bottom right of the cell it populates the column with login2 login3 etc fine. But if I add the @domain.ac.uk bit at the end it doesn't work! Which wouldn't usually be a huge issue as it would be a small amount of temporary logins but this time 250 are required!!! Any ideas?
RichCowell Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) I usually put the username in one column, then the rest of the email address in another column (or just one in a cell) then put a formula in a third column saying e.g.

A B C

login1 @domain.ac.uk =A1&$B$1

login2 =A2&$B$1

login3 =A3&$B$1

or

A B C

login1 @domain.ac.uk =A1&B1

login2 @domain.ac.uk =A2&B2

login3 @domain.ac.uk =A3&B3

Edited June 25, 2014 by RichCowell
WayTooTricky Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Try this formula ="login" & ROW() &"@domain.ac.uk" Copy down as many time as you like 1
jallsop Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 =CONCATENATE(A1,B1) I use this all the time for lists for e mail addresses etc. interestingly, just tried to type @domain.com into Excel 2011 for mac, and as soon as you type @, the count if formula becomes active.
3s-gtech Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) Shows what an Excel noob I am - I create the list of login1, login 2 etc in one column with atschool.sch.uk in the next, save it as CSV, then use Notepad with Find and Replace to remove the comma! Works though Edited June 27, 2014 by 3s-gtech
