I am trying to update Kodu to the latest version 1.4.27.0 on Windows 7 32-Bit laptops. I have also installed XNA 4.0

When trying to run Kodu or the Configuration tool nothing happens when using the shortcuts or EXE files directly.

The Event Viewer is showing:

Uninstalling the latest version and installing 1.3.5.0 works fine without any issues.

Has anyone else come across this please?

Exact same issue for me with exact same event viewer logs, both 3.5 and 4 XNA framework present and both dot net 3.5 and 4.

Only happening on 1.4, Windows 8.1 x86.

Reverting back to 1.3

Resolved the issue in the end.

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are installed correctly, by this I mean ensure that if your using such drivers that introduce tabs into the advanced graphics windows that they are working correctly (damn you Intel...!)

2. Kodu will crash if no internet access is present (seems a bit poop to me but hey its Microsoft!). I was logging on with an account that did not have my Proxy GP applying, upon adding in my proxy details to IE (other browsers are available...) and then making sure I could browse the web Kodu flew open with no issue.

In short - Check GFX drivers and make sure you have internet access!
