genesis Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Hi I have SIMS on Windows 2003 and planning to migrate to 2012R2 and I am planning to install SQL server 2012. On my Microsoft portal there are many SQL versions. I am not clear of the SQL version I need to install. Is it SQL Server Standard 2008 R2 ? Please let me know the prerequisites for SIMS installation and any tutorial to install SQL server for SIMS will be helpful. Many thanks .
fairm010 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I don't deal with SIMS here but I know you need to install SQL 2012 if you want to be current.

matt40k Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 On my Microsoft portal there are many SQL versions. I wrote a little blog post about what edition to use: Should I purchase Full SQL or is Express enough? – Matt Smith
Marshall_IT Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Definitely go with 2012 as capita are stopping support for 2008 soon. Other than that @matt40k blog says it all. 1
