Transferring Apple Config Mac to a new Mac

Hey Guys

 

Am I missing something here, all I want to do is clone the drive from my current Mac and install the cloned image onto a new Mac. If I use Migration Assistant it says it's going to take around 14 hours over Wi-Fi. I haven't got any cables to connect them together and I don't have any Mac Server at the moment to perform a time machine backup and restore. All I have is a Wifi network and a Windows Server is there anyway I can do this!? I also don't have a external HDD or anything similar that is big enough to store the data.

Firewire cable ?

 

Wondering if you could put the original apple mac into target disk mode connected to your new mac and use something like superduper or CCC to make a bootable image using disk utility ??

A Thunderbolt cable would be faster than Firewire 800.

Partition the new mac so there is enough space to create the image on the 2nd partition and then apply that to the main partition using ccc / super duper or disk util ?

For £25 you could get a 32 or maybe a 64gb usb stick. Speed may vary depending on if the older mac has usb 3 etc but obviously thunderbolt will be faster assuming both macs have thunderbolt
