Zourous Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I can't seem to find a definitive answer to this question. I've read the Netflix T&C's and it seems to be unclear. There are various posts on the net from the US that say you can but it's a bit of a grey area and anyway it might be different over there. Anyone in the UK know the answer to this, is it legal?
plexer Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Personal and non-commercial I can see how using it in a School can be covered under personal use, have you contacted Netflix? Ben 1
Zourous Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 I haven't contacted them yet, but might do later. These places aren't always prompt with a response, so I thought I'd try here first in case anyone's already been down that road.
sparkeh Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) This was discussed here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/124424-netflix.html and here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/116896-netflix-use-schools.html Basically, all Netflix has said is that its not permissible to use in school but they aren't actively pursuing offenders... Edited June 10, 2014 by sparkeh change to *not* permissible - oops :) 2

fairm010 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Haha.. Inbetweeners style. "Awwwwwww... Netflix Friends....."
ZeroHour Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Just a word of warning, Netflix will chew down large amounts of bandwidth when in 1080p and 5.1 (1.1-1.2 mb/s)
SteveM555 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 We block Netflix and Amazon Instant for all pupils & staff. Nobody has even questioned it or asked to use it here...
