nadeem Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I have a number of Surface RT tablets (from last summer's education offer) for sale I think its up to 9 from memory - all brand new, unopened boxes. Any interest? Just the Surface RT - we've used all the type/touch cover we purchased, and I slightly over estimated how many we'd need.
mole Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Interested in one, what are the specs? and do they come with a lic?
SYNACK Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 @nadeem - please add a price as required by this sections rules.
nadeem Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 (edited) Sorry didn't add price £105 if you want 1 (though if postage pricing is ridiculous I want want a contribution to that!) £100 if you want multiples Its the original Surface RT 32GB version http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-gb/products/surface bought from the MS Education offer last year Edited June 9, 2014 by nadeem
nadeem Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Thanks for the tip - was just going to use Royal Mail (or TNT), as that's who picks up our post, and I don't have to faff around setting up an account!
FN-GM Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 You don't need to setup an account with these, they will collect as well. Started using it at work and saved a packet already.
featured_spectre Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 just asking my boss now. Would be handy for us!
featured_spectre Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Want to know some details please Who gets the money? How does it go through? (Can it be picked up for cash?) Can we have pictures?
FN-GM Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Tempted to buy one myself, but im saving or trying to! Can we have pictures? Of a cardboard box
raimon Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Bargain, we have them at work but i'm not a fan of the RT though
featured_spectre Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 @nadeem are you able to answer the questions?
nadeem Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 In answer to the questions - 2 of them are notionally mine - so that would be paid to me - the rest would be paid to my College. I'm also setting up that new Paym thing today so that might be an option! They could be picked up for cash (preferable in many ways - saves faffing with the delivery). Let me find stack them up and take a photo (of the boxes) I do have 6 that we unboxed a few weeks ago (have the boxes still) - that we don't have a use for at the moment so might be open to offers on those - we'd just factory reset them. In a passing reference to another thread, we use most of them for committee meetings, surveys, etc. The rest we use gave to some individuals for their use. I think I bought around 80 of them in various iterations (with type and touch covers) For reference the original pricing was as follows Microsoft is pleased to offer special pricing on Surface RT directly to schools and universities for a limited time between 19th June 2013 and 31st August 2013. Our exclusive direct to institution pricing is as follows: Surface RT (32GB) - £133 + VAT Surface RT (32GB) with Touch Keyboard Cover - £168 + VAT Surface RT (32GB) with Type Keyboard Cover - £196 + VAT 1
nadeem Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 @mole - it would be less aggro to get rid of them all in one go - but I do have as noted the other 6 as well if that is of any use - or if @nephilim could do with 8
featured_spectre Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 8 would be lovely, but dont think we could get that many.
mole Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) thanks, but only require 1 If you change your mind let me know. Edited June 10, 2014 by mole
featured_spectre Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 yup, we only require one. However my boss would still like to see pictures.
SYNACK Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 We have a stack of these used as web browsers/content collection (camera/Video/Audio) devices and they work great, not exactly a per user logon type deal but work really well at being single user devices or shared user devices with the provision of non-domain integration.
