IOS Annotating

Hi there

I'm just on the hunt for suggestions regarding some annotating software for Ipads that teachers might be able to use....something that might let you draw on the Ipad with a pen.............we want to be able to open Word docs or preferably Google Docs then save them back again easily to Google Docs. I wonder if there's anything that might OCR as well....just thinking out loud there.

 

From my brief surf so far on the net most are saying you need to convert to PDF first.......I've come across Iannotate.....can anyone suggest anything please?

Just to add we have 'Notability' on the Ipad but I think what the teachers want is a side bar to annotate rather than just on the page........if I find anything I will post it up!

For annotation I convert materials into pdf's and use goodreader. Beyond annotations, Learning how to add and use bookmarks is key to effective use.

 

For note taking I use OneNote a lot. This might be the best option for class/teacher use.

 

I also use OmniFocus to manage my 'to do' action

 

To work effectively a laptop and iPad is required. If the laptop is a MacBook the flow is best (but that is only true since onenote has become available on mac).

 

Setup works well for study/review. Would not be so good for 'marking' - it's just too slow. Indeed when the quality of the written output is substantially less important than just getting through the volume of materials I find paper and pen quickest and easiest.. It take a phenomenal amount of discipline to maintain a purely digital workflow.

 

Speaking personally my files are primarily in google drive, and my private WebDAV server.

One note doesn't work for business/education accounts when creating new notebooks.

 

The login window appears and try's to connect to the personal user live.com site.

Good point. Support for O365 is supposed to be coming though.
