Guest richard Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Having just looked at the job, wouldn't it be sensible to make the post full year instead of term time plus 2 weeks and get rid of the flexible bit during times where the work load is heavy.
mortstar Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 That's what I asked for from the SLT - as I explained the nature of network support. However, what we have compromised on was term-time plus 2 weeks and the understanding that flexibility may be required, thus we have tried to be upfront about this flexibility from the start. I would have loved a full-time Technician
Guest richard Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 I am in a similar job at the moment and to be honest it isn't flexible. I have to work at the busy times but have yet to get the time of in term time as they cannot cope with out me being there. As it is they want to me to come in on my days off to do some extra bits ( I am 3 days a week),but will not pay me as they cannot afford to...
mortstar Posted November 2, 2007 Author Report Posted November 2, 2007 The intentions are sincere and I, personally, would not let that sort of thing happen. That is why we have put the details upfront.
