creese Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Oh dear. I come into work to find yet another delay. I hate to say i told you so, but I told you so.
MrMat Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) 09/07/2014 – 14:20 We are carrying out extra testing to confirm that the issues above have all been fully resolved. This has taken longer than anticipated and will mean that the release is now planned for tomorrow. We are doing all we can to ensure that this is in the morning and I will provide an update later today. Once again, we do apologise for any inconvenience that this delay might cause. Regards, Jonathan Wood Edited July 9, 2014 by MrMat
matt40k Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 You mind editing out his email address. Poor guy dealing with a SIMS release, he doesn't need a mailbox full of spam to top it off 1

MrMat Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 ...the release is now planned for tomorrow How do you know? I can't see anything on Supportnet?!
MrMat Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Wow, it's finally here! Email: The following product has been released to you and can be downloaded via the SOLUS Wizard: Product name SIMS 2014 Summer 2 Version Do not reply to this email as the account is not monitored. How long before it gets pulled?
MrMat Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Anyone noticed that the release has seemingly killed SupportNet?
creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Anyone noticed that the release has seemingly killed SupportNet? Nah, that's so you watch the Favicon. It will hypnotise to into forgetting the failure and believe this is the first release and all is well.
vikpaw Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 All joking aside, you have to commend them, they have been very quick to respond and get these bugs sorted. Let's just hope there aren't any more show-stoppers, poor Jon must be a wreck. If i wasn't battling the timetable right now, i'd whack it on my test setup just to see how it goes. 1

I do feel sorry for him, humour cures all :-) I'm not doing anything with it. I am the only one on the Helpdesk answering calls, why aren't more schools closed? and I have only 7 1/2 days left here.
vikpaw Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 We've been closed for two weeks. Isn't today a strike day for teachers? I bet they'll all install next week and you'll have the last half day from hell Off to anywhere nice? ... like the real world ...
divadiow Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 will it work on NT4? anyone tried it on 2003? I have a couple in the wild still...
creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Off to anywhere nice? ... like the real world ... Yes, the real world, away from boiling frogs and u-turns in freight liners. Looks like my training side is winning over my baking side.
vikpaw Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 anyone tried it on 2003? I have a couple in the wild still...Working and being supported are miles apart. There was a thread about it recently but for previous versions not this one. With the number of bugs that crop up, do you really want to risk your central data store? I know your hands are probably tied, just saying Yes, the real world, away from boiling frogs and u-turns in freight liners. Looks like my training side is winning over my baking side.Cool - enjoy. I'm sure you'll be back, just like matt40K - he SIMSply cant resist
creese Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Cool - enjoy. I'm sure you'll be back, just like matt40K - he SIMSply cant resist I may have some SIMS stuff :tape2:in the wind, so won't be leaving here.
vikpaw Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) I may have some SIMS stuff :tape2:in the wind, so won't be leaving here. Please tell me you're going to take SOLUS 2 and open source it so we can keep on using it ..or you could package each update into an MSI Edited July 10, 2014 by vikpaw typo!
