Not sure if this has been mentioned in the past but we have just started to roll out IE11 to our machines. All has gone well baring machines with Smartboard Notebook software on. Student machines with proxy settings has worked with no problems but i should warm you all about Smart Notebook. If you have version 11.2.xxxx you may see that google displays half way down the page, as does bing and yahoo.

To over come this download and install version 11.3 or 11.4.

we've nailed this down to the SMART Ink plug in. We've had issues with 11.3 and 11.4 too, and also with IE10 Not yet properly resolved.

Ahhh yeah, uninstalling smartink on 11.1 fixes this issue.

Thanks for the heads up. I've just about finished rolling out IE10 to the classrooms, haven't had any complaints yet about anything SMART related. Still have 11.0 version installed in the majority of rooms, haven't yet moved to 11.4. Frustrated by the fact that SMART has now gone the paid route for Notebook as well.

@CraigM I remember hearing about this a few months back, can't believe they're charging for a version upgrade to people that own SMART hardware and it's a move that I suspect may backfire on them...

We were one of the first, if not the first school in South Africa to put a board in each classroom. We have 47 boards total. One would think now that with 11.5, AKA Notebook 2014, SMART would have less issues because they could strip out all the XP codebase and move on. Anyway unless they end up changing their minds, looks like 11.4 will be the version we'll be using for ages to come.

Anyway, I am hoping to get IE11 rolled out in the next few months, so I'll keep a close eye on any issues between Notebook, Ink and IE11.

Has anyone had any further issues with regards to IE11 and smart software? I'm having issues with smart board calibration on a large number of boards since the summer. we rolled out ie11 over the summer..so i'm wondering if it could be related.

We've been having calibration issues (11.4 with IE11 installed) for the last few months of the summer and this term. Haven't found any solution, but interesting to hear others are experiencing issues. Guess I'll keep an eye on this thread.

We've install 14 on one heavy user to see how that works out, but as stated above, not a long term solution without coughing up more cash.

We have experienced the problems related to Smart Ink in Smart Notebook (Blank space at the top of the internet page, incompatibility with MyMaths, Exampro and certain other sites)

We found the best solution was to

1. Uninstall all of the Smart Software (I'm tempted to say put a normal whiteboard and pen in place, but no),

2. Uninstall ie10,

3. Update any graphics drivers

4. Reinstall ie10 or later and do updates

5. Re-install latest downloaded Smartboard software

6. Pay ransom money to Smart for a site license for the new Notebook license
