Just been chatting to a little lad from year 6 about games and he mentioned he had a Playstation 1 we both laughed until I asked him what games he even plays on it anymore and he said this

Took me back and I'm impressed that such a young lad with all the latest stuff PS4 etc... still keeps the legendary old games alive :)

Anyone remember this? Can anyone remember what happened when you pressed "X" on your Playstation controller?

My 7 year old boy is a Manic Miner\Jet Set Willy fanatic. He loves retro-games and ever since we took him to Play in Blackpool earlier in the month he's been bugging me for a ZX Spectrum.

He has access to emulators on the kids laptop (a 7 year old Acer that keeps them off mine!) and loves games for the gameplay rather than the graphics. It's the best way to start IMO :)

Oddworld?! Pah. Overrated modern rubbish :p

I loved abes oddessey... *parp* hehehe. Hello, Follow Me, OK!

Haha completely forgot about the words they said I just had a major flash back of that. I never completed this game though as a kid I was always stuck at one part, I used to love controlling the yellow robot people and make them beat up the other Abe's :)

Haha love it proper retro gamer right here and he's 7 that's great. I think that plays a big part in my gaming style at the moment I no longer look at how good a game is but also factor in that it should have amazing graphics also which is a shame but I no longer like looking at blocky, pixelated games!

Oddworld was blooming' amazing how dare you! :)

Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy - my fav games. I used to dread the sound when he died on a level. I loved Attack of the mutant camels too!!!!

Me too, it wasn't even that far in. I think I kept getting annoyed at the lack of save points (as it was back then) Get right to the end of the level, get eaten by a crab thingy and have to start the whole level again.

Strangers has had a few HD remakes on Sony's hardware, definitely on PS3 and I think on Vita.. may be worth taking a look if you've got the systems.

Unfortunately I have only the 360 these days (and a PS1 and PS2 in a drawer upstairs). I'd hoped they might do a port to Xbox Arcade but no such luck.

Incidentally - I want the remake mentioned above!!!!!
