gillop Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 We have a Visually Impaired pupil in school, and the local VI support team wanted him to be able to use an iPad to see what was on the screen, using screen sharing software on the Teacher's PC. They initially suggested Team Viewer Instant Meeting, but we had issues with trying to get this to work through the proxy and firewalls, and we would have to purchase a "Corporate" licence, we could not use the free version. They next suggested Display Note, considerably cheaper than Team Viewer, but still had Firewall & Proxy issues. Then I got a call back from the RNIB, who suggested Join.me from LogMeIn. It required just a couple of minor tweaks to get it through the Firewall/Proxy and works great, and you only need the Basic Version which is Free. We are currently testing this solution.
Marches Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 We have a very similar setup here, we have got round it by using impero, The teacher simply shares their screen with the pupil in questions laptop and they can zoom in as required. This works well and there is a version of impero for ipad but i'm unsure if it can do this yet.
gillop Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 We have AB Tutor, and although there is an iPad client, they can't zoom.
