bootable USB Pen

hey all,

 

Just a quick question hopefully someone on here can help me with. I have recently started working at a high school as an IT tech. My predecessor used ghost cast server to re image workstations starting off with a boot-able USB pen (that I inherited). I have changed the re image process slightly in the last couple of weeks and have been storing the images on a portable HD instead of on the server.So I was booting to ghost using USB the pen stick and then selecting the image I wanted from the portable HD. All was going well until my USB pen stick died on me. Now I am unsure of how to re create the USB boot-able pen stick having never done this before I am at a bit of a loss and was wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction.

/\ this, so much quicker, think about the time you need to do a whole suite at once and having to swap the drive around the room.

Thanks everyone for the reply's much appreciated. The above seems similar to how the last stick was probably setup. Once I have carried out the steps above how do I run ghost ? Using the old stick the system booted from the stick and then asked what system you were running, this installed the relevant NIC drivers, after that it would automatically launch ghost and I could select the drive and image etc.

I believe we will shortly be moving to altiris deployment, Edinburgh council seem to be years behind everyone else

Any pointers on how to get ghost on this stick?
