Office 365 - Outlook cannot contact server - happening throughout the day

Hello,

 

As the title, today seems especially bad with us getting disconnect message across multi machines on our site, doesn't affect any other web services as far as I can tell, no issues on the admin console for 365 and doesn’t appear to affect access via the OWA web app. Believe my auto discover and DNS settings are okay – as I say it’s intermittent but I am about to log a call with MS and find out if they can help investigate.

 

Anecdotally, we recently the lEA moved us to a new higher speed link to their internet service, the issue certainly seems to have started around that time.

Have a call with LEA logged but no reply for 2 weeks now, sent a reminder last week and have updated with an email today regards lack of a reply even to say “you’re a fool its nothing to do with us…”, their silence makes me suspicious. I mean I blame them for everything else right…

 

So other than coming on Edugeek for a moan, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of clever things I can do to try to figure out why outlook is dropping the connection to Office 365?

 

General info, We are mainly Office 2010 SP1, but it happens on 2013 test machines as well, we are up to date patch wise as far as I am aware – maybe this IS the problem?!

 

We use an LEA proxy set via gpp reg settings for IE11 and it happens on fat desktops with outlook cache on and RDP server machines with outlook cache off, seems random times during the day for around 5 minutes tops at a time. Today was especially problematic, have a lid on it currently but users are starting to notice and complain today.

Removing the tick does appear to have fixed it on our test office 2010 and 2013 machines. We plan to do that for all machines on site and use the proxy exceptions list for anything specific.
