TP-Link Router Bridge Mode

im trying to connect my TP-Link MR3220 to my wifi in bridged mode i set it up according to the instructions (not that its too difficult anyway) and I just cant get it working. I have a sky router setup with WPA2 security and I want to use the TP-Link router to connect my NAS to the network (eventually I will get some powerlines but wanted to use it like this for now) According the the instructions it should simply be a case of selecting bridged mode doing the site survey, tick your network, fill in you passcode and that's it, but it just wont work. I have checked and double checked all my settings and all are correct. can anyone offer any suggestions what the problem maybe?

Have you tried doing iot manually, set your TP-Link and Sky router up on the same Wireless network, Same SSID, Same passcode, Same Frequency...

 

See if that works.

I must admit I didnt try that partly because I thought that wouldnt work, I thought the only way you could link two routers was either via a cable or bridged mode, I might be talking complete rubbish though.

You may have to do DHCP Relay on one of your routers so that both routers don't end up doling out IP's... On your bridged mode router you will need to set it's gateway I'd of thought to your sky router... but this is purely guessing as I've never done it .. and yes I'm of the same idea, you can connect via a Cross-Over cable or bridged mode.

so, I need to use bridge mode? I dont want to connect with x over cable as there will be cables trailing everywhere, I wanted to hook up the router over the wireless basically so I can use it as a wireless switch so I can connect my nas wirelessly to the network.

 

I will try setting it up manually, I can just turn off DHCP on the bridged router so I wont need to use a relay.

Try both modes! One of them should work... not played with bridge mode via wireless before!
