[android] Mirroring Android devices onto computers with Screen Mirroring app

Hi All

 

 

I am looking at mirroring andriod devices on our computers, i have been told this is possible with the screen mirroring app that comes on most of the android phones/tables. What i am looking for is what software you use on the actual computers to get this to work... Any ideas and tips would be greatly appreciated. We have a win 7 environment.

You would need a miracast receiver. I'm not aware of a software receiver. There are various HDMi miracast dongles. You can also mirror to chromecast and others with the ezcast app (i think there are other apps as well.)

It's not an app, but Android 4.2 (and later) includes Miracast support. I assume this is what you are referring to?

Do you want to mirror the Android devices to the Windows PCs?

 

I'm not aware of any software that supports MiraCast on Windows or other operating systems. You usually need a hardware-based MiraCast receiver like a Netgear PTV3000 or PIPO X1 that is connected to a TV via HDMI (as @mrdolan mentioned).

 

Perhaps a better option might be to buy AirServer for Windows and then use an Android app like Mirror that supports AirPlay Mirroring?

 

 

The only issue with this is that the 'Mirror' app currently requires root privileges on Android.
