Springbok Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Hi there Apologies if this has been answered previously! We're about to undertake a project to install Meraki wireless into our school and enable a Bring Your Own Device Policy and the introduction of Android tablets and iPads. We still want to filter our content via Smoothwall. However, when testing some of our devices we find that we are having strange issues with images not displaying in Google Play Store and or them not being accessible. Is this a setting inside Smoothwall (Which I'm sure it is) that anyone is aware of and more importantly how this could be worked around? Any help would be appreciated! Gareth
speckytecky Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Not wishing to hijack the thread but who's the recommended supplier of Smoothwall? My school is looking to buy it in.
witch Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) @speckytecky I think you will find that is smoothwall themselves who are sponsors on this forum - we share a stand with them at BETT too! See here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/smoothwall-direct-support/ Edited March 13, 2014 by witch 1
Springbok Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 You can go to Smoothwall directly - Smoothwall - Internet Security and Content Filtering Solutions
speckytecky Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I'm guessing by the tone of your reply fair lady that you recommend them highly? @speckytecky I think you will find that is smoothwall themselves who are sponsors on this forum - we share a stand with them at BETT too! Gareth First port of call would be to check out 'Logs and reports » Logs » Web filter' on the Smoothwall web interface to locate any blocked requests. IIRC it would be a ggpht.com or an googleusercontent.com domain.
