Try giving your proxy and gateway switch a reboot. I had a Catalyst 3550 completely fail on me recently which Service Birmingham replaced. Some of these must be 7+ years old easily.

Edit: I can confirm BGfL's connectivity is 10Mbps up/down and 100Mbps up/down as they're all lease lines. If you used BT Infinity for example, it may be something like 20Mbps up/80Mbps down. Lease lines are definitely the way forward.

I have tried all on and off and even out of hr's for weeks and not broken 60 mb/s with a few 8 mb/s even when no one is around.

I presume you've told Link2ICT you're not getting the advertised speed?

It does kind of make some sense - on a 10Mbps link it's topping out at 8.5Mbps or less typically, so multiply that by 10 and I can understand why you're only getting approx. 60Mbps.

Link2ict are working on it and say the link is fine to the proxy. and are asking about dns issues today we will see if they come back with any helpful suggestions. my main issue is the drop outs we are only a small school but are having a lot of issues since the new firewall whether something needs changing or updating i do not no.
