techie1982 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Hi I have recently installed Papercut Printlogger free on the Server 2003 DC. Should it be able to detect and log standalone devices such as laptops and desktops that also print to photocopiers/printers through the server? Or is this a limitation of the software? Regards techie1982
sted Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 if its sent to the servers print queue it should detect the user account used to send it wether its on or off domain as far as i remember
MatthewL Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 The job has to be passed through a printer shared out from that server other wise it cannot log. If you want to log form other devices you will need to upgrade to PaperCut NG or if you want support where you can login to pick your jobs up on MFDs then you will need to buy PaperCut MF. With NG you can have a number of devices free and roll out the client to the PC's to do this.
Cache Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 The standalones that I wanted to log, I installed the printlogger and there is a config file you can alter to point it to a network share. Set this up and you can then still have a central loging as such, it's just not all in one file.
