Depends how active we get. If we're going to be recruiting other people in-game (outside of EduGeek) then we can't just keep communications to here, can we? In which case, it makes sense to have a domain (though, realistically, I don't see buying one as being a requirement. I'd be fine with TMC.hostname or similar.

I feel the same ^^^

So a site is a definite. Whether we purchase domain name or just use a name.host.gTLD is a different issue - one I'm not too fussed about if I'm honest.

Always been a fan of the lazy way myself, the three sites I look / looked after for guilds / clans / cabals etc. were all through Enjin, not a bad system.

I've used ucoz domains before for small-time clan/group sites. They're fully customisable, they put the template together but then give you access to all the source code you can do whatever you want. Is good.

Also one of their freely available domains is .clan.su

ahh yes but if you decide to migrate or buy your own domain, enjin make it hard to do so without paying up for the privilege!

Really? Looks like the only cost involved is the advanced / ultimate plan, which is what you'd be running anyway if you wanted to get rid of the ads.

Can't say I've looked into it too much, I had a quick Google, but the usual TLDs were taken, so I'd end up with something odd if I tried it for the WoW guild.

Yeh enjin wont allow you to remove the forum database or anything, so if you wanted to convert your forum to a new domain elsewhere, you are looking at I think (last time I checked) £250 for the privelege.

Ah right, I see what you mean now. I was looking at just using a custom domain name, so no *.enjin.com etc.

Good to know.

yeh unfortunately its the same for any .*domainhere.com product. Some are arguably a great system to use, others not so much, but then when you use them, you're either tied in to constantly pay for a system so you don't have ads, or you pay through the nose if you want to migrate elsewhere.

Tamriel Mining Corporation - Europe - Elder Scrolls Online - Guild Hosting - Guild Launch < found this one...its not bad. Quick set up, same problem with others that you can't export things so easily or without a cost, but its the best suited to the needs. For $12 a month, we get a voice server, ad free hosting and can use our own domain name also. Edited by featured_spectre

Huh, Teamspeak with it? That's not bad. 25-man TS3 server usually sets you back £4 on its own.

Hopefully we'll get big enough to exceed that at some point (take over all of the places!) but then we'd have more donating members, so yeah.

Ooo nice work Nephilim :D Do we all have early access then ? I have 3 days worth, but from the 4th to the 21st I probably wont be online too much, other things planned :D . After that I can play pretty regularly.

If you have preordered and input your early access code on your account, then yes, you have early access. If people want this to go ahead and use a TS and stuff, lets cough up (I paid £5 to make it ad free for period of time, but doesn't cover the TS costs)
