IPads and proxy

We have just issued iPads to some staff, reluctantly, but our smoothwall keeps prompting for authentication. Obviously their username and password works, but is there a way to stop this?

 

Thankfully all the devices are on meraki, yet already we've had complaints about it as it's against there human rights to 'track' the school piece of equipment!

We've set the iPADs we don't want to prompt as static IP's and made them unauthoenticated.

Setup the iPads on a separate VLAN and SSID, then put default filtering on the VLAN. You should still be able to track what IP address goes with which iPad at any point in time from the records on your DHCP server. Or, at least we can. That way, no prompt and annoyance to staff, and you still get the filtering and information that is required to track them if necessary.
