BJG Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Just overheard: "Why do people have to improve things for the worse? Absolutely, like, f**k off." This turned out to be a comment on the latest Google Maps update...apparently there's some new window feature proving irksome to at least one user. I like the concept, though; improving things for the worse. There ought to be a word for that. Edited February 20, 2014 by BJG
Alkaline Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 To be honest I have to agree. I don't really like the new Google maps. But I know what you mean.

witch Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Deprovements. Disimprovements? * edit There IS a word for improvements that make things worse-in German: Verschlimmbesserung Edited February 20, 2014 by witch
jbailey Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 But surely the Germans use this word for explaining the mistakes of other nations not for commenting on their own endeavours?
synaesthesia Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Gimprovements This. But let's just shorten it to say "It's been Gimped".
