Office 365 Dir Sync Groups

Hi,

 

I am looking at Syncing groups from AD to Office 365. This is so we can set permissions in Sharepoint Online. Looking in the admin area i can only see distribution groups for Exchange. Is it possible to sync them for Sharepoint Online please?

In AD set the groups with the following settings:

Group name

Description(If required)

E-mail

Group Scope:Globe

Group Type:Security

 

This will make them as both distribution and security groups.

You only need to provide the e-mail address if you want to use it as a distribution group.

Is it possible to set delivery restrictions on these? Such as who can send messages to them. It keeps stating that it needs to be managed in AD when I try to use the portal.

Do it in AD under the attributes and it filters up.

 

dLMemSubmitPerms or authOrig depending if group or member etc
